Competition winner Sue talks about training with Liz Blatchford

Last month All3Motion launched a competition to win a chance to train with ITU triathlete Liz Blatchford in Milton Keynes. Sue McIntyre from Bishop Stortford was the lucky person chosen, and got the opportunity to speak to Liz about her training and receive some top advice from a world-class triathlete.
As well as learning from Liz, Sue, who is a student dietician at the University of Hertfordshire, also took part in a Gait Analysis at All3Motion to analyse her running style and how she can improve her technique.

Sue on... working with Liz
Liz was brilliant, really lovely. She was telling me about problems with knee, and recommended I see a surgeon who specialises in it, as I have been injured recently. We were talking about rest periods and the way she trains as well, which gave me some useful insights on what I can do.
Sue on... entering the competition
I saw the competition on Facebook and thought it would be a great thing to enter. I really admire how Liz has suffered from injuries and still carried on by adopting different techniques and changing her way of running – how she has battled adversity and still came out on top. I will use these technique from now on and carry on running.
Sue on... Triathlons
I did two seasons of triathlons but had to stop a few years ago after injury, as I had worn cartilage in knee and had to stop competing. But the new running techniques and new styles I have learned today from working with Pete (Ford) can change that and make it easier.
Sue on... her Gait Analysis
The Gait Analysis was really useful to me. I learned that my stride is too long and that I have to run with faster cadence. I found that by having your right heel near touching the ground, you feel like you are using less energy, making running much easier. I will definitely use these techniques from now on and carry on running.
